I need math help on a graded assignment!

Manny works 40 hours per week. He must work for his parents where he earns \$8 per hour. He also works for a computer company where he earns \$20 per hour. What is the minimum number of hours Manny can work for the computer company to earn a total of \$464 per week from both jobs?

if he works 10 of those hours there
then 20 and 10

so thats so thats 240

so lets try 12 hours at 20

then 28 and 8

and you get 464

answer- he must work 12 hours at 20 dollars an hour

idk, maybe im wrong, i do math very weirdly, but there you go :/

thats what i got too but i was really confused because the question is asked like an inequality but none of the equations can be inequalities becasue they are all definites! but thank you!

dude, its just how i do math, i get weird looks from people, like my bf, he asked me to solve something for him and i did it outloud like that, we stared at me like who knows what i just did.

28 hours working for his parents and 12 hours working for the computer company.

Let x = the hours worked at the company, then the hours worked at home = 40 -x.
Apply the hourly rate to the week's work and you get an equation...
20 x + 8(40-x) = 464
20 x + 320 - 8x = 464
12x = 464 -320
12x = 144
x = 12
