Because the government cannot track it, they cannot tax it, so they made it illegal. Plus, it gives lower echelon ATF agents something to do.

Primarily due to the fact that the manufacturer did not pay tax to the Feds .

...and it's made in makeshift stills....they use old car radiators and other junk to distill it!! Make ya go blind !
