What is about Bible that some people prefer it to the evolution theory?

Report as

Because fiction sells better than non fiction.

I've actually experienced God personally in my life. That's why I choose it instead of evolution

You saw Jesus?
Report as
No, but my cousin has. And I've felt His Spirit around me many times (and spoken in different languages,) and had prophetic dreams
Report as
Awesome!!!
Report as
When did your cousin see jesus?
Report as
There are people who go to my church who get healed of cancer, and someone was healed from blindness one time. She had one eye 100%, and the other 90% blind, and now she sees
Report as
And she said she remembers seeing him from when she was a baby.
Report as
Maybe that was something else? My grandgrandma saw Jesus next day she passed.

Very cool. :)

because evolution is full of holes

Not full actually, but there are some gaps. Although it doesn't prove that the Intelligent design is right.

And the bible is not...? Ha!
Report as
Evolution is not full of holes.
Report as
The bible is full of gaping rents in logic, scientific and historical accuracy.
Report as
No it isn't. It just takes actually paying attention in science class and not letting your religious bias get in the way.

Why does someone prefer the language of their parents as opposed to another language? People are raised to believe it or must buy into it in order to get the rest of what they want out of the bible. I only hope the next Einstein comes a secular family, or at least a more rational, open minded religious family.

Because most were raised to believe in it. They're brainwashed in a way...

Brain washed into believing evolution?
Report as
Evolution is a fact, Bible is not a fact, it can't stand any critics at all.
Report as
Evolution is in no way a fact. Everyone knows this. Ask any scientist.
Report as
The scientific community embraces evolution as scientific fact. Denying evidence doesn't make it go away.
Report as
Let lololoves charge his phone & then he shall say namely which scientists we must ask.

Depends on whether you're talking micro or macro evolution. To say things do not evolve is nonsense. To say that's where our species came from...well that's for everyone to decide on their own. I for one believe in the theory of human evolution. I believe god set the events into motion.
Report as
Occam's razor principle excludes any intelligent agent to start things to evolve. God is not an answer, acceptance of any supernatural beginging removes any scientific answers.

I disagree. When I talk of god I'm not referring to god in a biblical sense. I believe in a higher power. I believe there is a life force that drives everything. Something had to be the start of everything right? Organized religion is obviously fabricated by humans.

I woke up early this morning thinking about this. After taking classes and learning all about the evolution theory, etc... ( and drilling the teachers with questions and trying to understand it all) ... It never made sense to me. Takes a whole heck of a lot of blind faith to believe in evolution.

Why is it so hard to believe in evolution? I grew up in the USSR and can't believe in god, though tried to
Report as
I can write and write about this but I'm about out of juice in my phone and we r on a road trip.
Report as
There is loads of proof for evolution. This is the argument from ignorance fallacy.
Report as
You don't need blind faith.
Report as
You don't need faith at all to believe facts. You just need a semblance of ability to understand science.
Report as
You do need blind faith bc there is NO answer as to where anything came from. No beginning of where any matter originally came from.
Report as
Evolution has nothing to do with where anything came from or how life started, dear. It's just about how life changes over time. The other issues are separate theories.

Creation is true; evolution is a story, it is what some people want to be true to the extent of having other humans verifying the theory of evolution to be fact, when God is the one they need to verify creation for them.
I am sorry for those who can not accept Gods word as the truth, that is just the way things are.

I'm sorry for people like you who can't accept the truth as truth.
Report as
I am talking about the likes of you; nothing I say matters to you, you are not interested in Gods word, in is too simple for you to accept.
Report as
Evolution is a fact.
Report as
Evolution is a theory, who's only approval comes from man and not God and you yourself said you do not believe that God is real. I personally believe nothing I say will matter to you. As I have said in the past come judgment day we all have to account for our actions in all we have done and the things left undone, and that include you as well as me.
Report as
It's both a theory and a fact, which you'd know if you had the slightest inkling of how science works. Gravity is a theory too, but I don't see you jumping off buildings to show how it's just a guess.

You realize the VAST majority of your fellow Christians accept evolution as well, right?
Report as
Wrong; you can not put evolution into the Bible. God created the world in 6 days and rested the 7. I also know nothing I say to you will convince you of this; in closing I will only say we will see come judgment day, and I pray you come to understanding before then.
Heavenly Father help this person to come to the realization of your truth grace and love, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.
Report as
That's because the bible was written by ignorant nomads who thought the sun revolved around the earth, bats are birds, and demons caused disease.
Most Christians realize this and that the bible is not a science text, and accept evolution and the Big Bang. You know, because not all of your fellows are ignorant.

Report as
I do not know where you are finding your information at but as far as I know they believe in creation not evolution.
Report as
No, they don't. America and the Third World are pretty much the only place you still find people ignorant enough to deny evolution. Most Christians accept facts just fine. Creationism is a fringe belief even in your own religion and my Christian colleagues are quite frankly embarrassed by it- they think it makes other people believe all Christians are uneducated and gullible.
Report as
I think some Christians believe in parts of evolution, but that God created it all.
Report as
Most Christians in the world are what we call "theistic evolutionists". This means they accept evolution, they merely think it's the mechanism their god chose to use.

Evolution theory requires that you understand some science. "God did it" doesn't require you to understand anything.

Science and God go together. I believe He made it and did so to help us understand a lot of what He made. But, there is still so much we don't kniw and understand. Science can't explain everything.
Report as
Science is a method MAN created to study the natural world. And just because it doesn't currently allow us to know everything does not mean that which we don't know is magic.

Only utterly misappropriating scripture would place it at odds with the scientific method. There is no conflict over the pursuit of unfolding truth, which both the Bible and the scientific
method are in pursuit of. The conflict arises between what is seen as a matter of fact and a matter of faith where "evidence" is concerned. The truth is both an acceptance of what we can see and a faith in the ever unfolding mystery of what we can't. We have only imagined a conflict out of the hardness of our own hearts, not out of the rigidity of His.

Huh?
Report as
I get a little caught up with words sometimes. I believe that the theory of evolution is a snapshot Darwin took of the action of God in creating our world. I believe many "Christians" have taken both scripture and Darwin out of context to create a conflict between science and faith, where I believe none exists.
