amaizing123, I had temporary custody of my nephew and wasn't getting any help financially from his parents. I had to get a third job, and the only place in my town hiring was McDonald's. I am 31. Don't EVER be ashamed to work somewhere, AT LEAST you are working sweetie! Any job is better than none! And of course it's not hard! Advancement is really easy if you are a hard worker and show up for your shift. You can be a cashier or cook. Ignore your cousin.

A lot of adults started at these types of jobs. Builds character and alittle cash. Plus if you screw up it won't follow you for life.

Put your two weeks in after you find another job. There is waiter/waitress, you can cook even if you think you can't. My motto is "I can do anything another man can" Keep that kind of attitude. :) I'm 26 and the only thing I haven't done is cashier. Um.... Janitor. In-stock. I worked at the deli, sea food, produce, and helped out in bakery at wal-mart and at eat n park. All I can really say is that those small jobs are going to suck no matter what. From my massive experience in a multitude of different jobs I can say that you gotta build a rep for yourself and try out different departments in any job. Every job you get will be a working and learning experience. Just enjoy it as much as you can, any job you might get, and save every penny. I haven't been able to get certain jobs because I don't have a car too so keep that in mind that owning a car opens up more opertunities. If you don't have one already.
And after all that being said, just go to school. Trade school or something and work on getting a career goal in place. It's what I'm doing now, but I'm really late on all of that. I should have started when I was your age

If you think you can manage it (and are desperate), take on multiple jobs. Maybe you can work at maccas in the earlier part of the day, then head over to your next job. Just take a change of clothes and food and drink (if it works out cheaper than staff benefits). When I was 18, I worked for 3 months at both Subway, and as a waitress. Not high paying jobs, but I still made roughly $3000 a month. Didn't have much of a social life at the time, but saved heaps of money, quick. And I didn't have to work each day either, some full days off occurred out of coincidence.

Work at this job and prepare for your woking career. If you are a teen, enroll in a school like ITT or somethig suitable for you.

I've always told my kids that any legal job done the best you can do it is a good job. Who cares if others "tease" you? You aren't 12 anymore. If you think working at MacDonald's is too hard, you will be in for a rude awakening. I mean you are at an age where you need to expect to start extending yourself.
