Is it possible for an 18 year old army reservist to work at a paid fire department in Tennessee?

I've been a reservist for a year and i'd like to get a job with the fire department however, they only hire people 21 years of age. I find it unfair that they will let an 18 year old join the army but, they don't hire for police or fire fighter.

The main reason that they only hire 21 year olds is the fact that most places require 2 years of college or training. It also has to do with insurance costs.

Again. Most places require either two years of college or in your case two years of armed forces service. It would be like me saying that because I was the treasurer of three clubs in high school or was good at math I should be able to get a job as an accountant at age 18. Passing basic training really has no actual skills that transfer over to either job except you have proven that you can take orders and carry them out.

It is not possible for an 18 year old army reservist to work at a paid fire department in Tennessee. This is because he will not have undergone all the training that is required for one to get employed there. Read more details at http://www.todaysmilitary.com/service-branches/army-reserve.
