Do you capitalize Earth?

i did in my question, so is that correct? i checked and it's so confusing. will someone please tell me when it's appropriate to capitalize the earth.

Yes. It is a proper noun. It's home to all of us! However, when referring to soil or ground, then it would not be capitalized.

When you're talking abou the planet itself but when your talking about earth as in dirt you don't. :)

No, earth is NOT a proper noun, and it only gets a capital at the beginning of a sentence or question! However, in times of naming it as a planet, like Mars, Mercury, then it needs a capital. I'm sure you get the gist of it.

Earth is kinda a name

Earth is capitalized when you are referring to our planet's name. Ex: I live on Earth, do you come from Mars?

Earth is not capitalized when referring to dirt. Ex: The feeling of earth between my toes was squishy and exhilarating!

When you're talking about Earth the planet then yes. When earth is dirt or ground or soil or whatever, then no it is not capitalized.
