What do I do if I say I have a high school diploma for a job?

I put on my resume that I have my high school diploma, and a hiring agency found me a job. Now the job is asking for a copy of my diploma, and I don't have anything to give them. What should I do?

You'll need to get a copy from your high school, or ask them if they will accept a copy of your transcripts. If you never actually finished high school, then you are out of luck - it's a lesson that lying never gets you anywhere, except possibly jail, as lying on an employment is considered a federal offense in some cases.

If you actually graduated, contact your school or district and they should be able to get you a copy. If you lied, you won't be getting the job and the hiring agency will probably let you go.

Best thing you can do is get a copy of your transcripts from your graduating high school

Go back and get your diploma or your GED. It's not hard. It doesn't take long and you'll be so proud of yourself when you've finished! You won't ever have that problem again and you can continue on to college. Just think of how much better you'll feel about yourself:)
