What is the probability of tossing 4 coins and getting tails on all 4

i agree with hiperfromcoke. if every time is 50%, then 4 times is still 50%

It's 50% every coin flip but their are 4 coins. 50% is the same as 1/2. So the answer is 1/16

lets just say we did it your way, 50% x 4 times would be 1/4. i still say it's 50% though

Lab is right. If you toss 4 coins ( or
1 coin 4 times) and then make one more toss, the probability of that one extra toss being tails is 1/2 or 50%.
That is not what this problem means.
It means toss 4 coins (or toss 1 coin 4
times) and compute the probability that all 4 tosses are tails.

multiply 1/2 (1/2)(1/2)(1/2) = 1/16
