Cow brands are all very different, that's so each ranch knows who's cow is who's.

The Bible is pretty clear that the mark symbolizes the response of the individual to a debate about authority. The question appears to be who has the right and authority to demand allegiance. Some choose the Beast because they believe in their choice (forehead) some choose because of fear (hand). Both choices are wrong

You know, you really didn't answer the question :)

Well, the Bible itself clearly answers the question. All you need to know is who the symbolic characters represent in real life.

And? It would be helpful to me if you would name names to see if we're both on the same page. I've always wondered if I have this figured out correctly. I've followed you for quite a while now and have been impressed with your grasp of the real issues. Even used your ideas. You may not want to be criticized for strait talk but this question is old enough no one will probably notice. Help me out ? :)

Ok. Let me put together a "short" statement that will answer your question satisfactorily and I will get back to you tomorrow

The story begins in the Bible book of Daniel chapter 2 with a simple vision of the history of the future of the world from the age of Babylon to the establishment of the kingdom of God. Each metal represented kingdoms that would rule the civilized world, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome. The book of Revelation reviews this list and concentrates on prophetic events that take place during the time of the toes of the image of Daniel 2.
Revelation 13 & 14 speaks of a time of persecution where coercion will be used to force the individual into a religious mold by telling you what you must believe or bow down to. The whole battle narrows down to the character of the True God and what establishes His authority. When God wrote the 10 commandments on stone He signed it in the 4th by establishing Himself as our Creator and requesting us to recognize Him as such by remembering the seventh day as the Sabbath. The mark will be established by how the individual responds to the pressure to conform to the demand of the powers that be or stand by God's request

I've tried to figure out who Rev 13 is talking about and how this creature fits into Daniel 2 ? I'm assuming that these symbols must represent real events because we speak of these books as prophetic.

Revelation 13 opens with the symbolic beast most Bible students interpret as the pope led Roman Catholic religio-political power (called a church) who comes to world wide influence and joins the lamb like beast with two horns interpreted as the United States of America seeking to cause the whole world to conform to its ideology in an effort to create world peace. You notice tho that He is a deceiver.

What happened, did I frighten you?

If the dragon in 13:2 is who I think it is then that means that the Devil is behind the throne of the pope and is his inspiration! You've got to be kidding!??
