Can a women become a swat member

Report as

I'm not sure about in the US, but here in Australia, women are allowed to do anything in a civilian situation that a man is allowed to do, so if we had a SWAT equivalent, most likely yes. In the case of the defense forces, women are trained as soldiers just the same as men, but they aren't allowed to be soldiers just the same as men in a combat situation. They are allowed to be medics and in logistics etc, but the defense force feels it brings unnecessary factors into a combat situation because men apparently feel a certain instinctual urge to protect a woman, and it would be easier if she just wasn't there in the first place.

But that's only because in Australia we believe in not going back for other soldiers who get injured while we are still engaged in combat until the exchange of gunfire has settled, because we'd rather focus on the task at hand, and signed up to be prepared to lose our life without any cowardice or jeopardizing the lives of our mates. I'm not trying to say that pulling a man to safety during a combat situation is a sign of cowardice, I'd personally like that to happen to me if I was in that position and it would improve my chances of living, but that's just the way the government over here says our troops have to operate. Not sure about your policies on the defense force in the US, that's just the way it is here. It's very rare for a woman to be allowed to participate as a male soldier does in combat situations, but special cases have been allowed before.

Yes, women can do anything men can do. If they couldn't that would be sexist, and that would violate our civil rights.
