I live in San Diego CA. This concerns the selling of used mattresses.
some people say it is against federal law to resell a used matress

a lady from Mass. says that state does have a law prohibiting the sale of used mattresses. here in so. calif. it is sonewhat common, yet not mentioned, knowledge, that many of our local "discount" bed stores (and there are ALOT of them) are selling mattresses refurbished and restuffed with ??? in Mexico and brought here to sell. who in that situation, if not both, are committing a crime....can ANYONE help?

if you say its used its okay,that law applies to mattress companies,if memory serves

Used mattresses are supposed to be taken apart, sanitized and rebuilt before selling. That is okay but the problem is that many claim to have taken those steps when, in fact, they haven't. That is a big problem. I wouldn't buy one because you don't really know. Sometimes they just put a new fabric over old germs, etc.
