Hey christians or religion experts... Would you mind explaining the unforgivable sin to me?...

by what I heard I think I did it a few times... oh well... :)

Report as

I was taught that Blasphamy was unforgivable, because if one doesn't believe in God, how can that individual ask accept the gift from God. It would be like if a person was drowning, and you through them a life preserver. But that individual doesn't believe in the life preserver, so he/she never accepts it. I was also told that suicide is not necessarily unforgivable, but the individual who committed suicide actually committed murder and never asked for forgiveness. This is what I have been told. I do coincided myself a Christian, but no theologian by any means of the word. I personally believe that one salvation is between God and the individual. Though we are to help each other in the ways of The Lord, we should be careful when we start judging others based on our own convictions, in which The Lord as laid on our hearts. Hope this provided some help. God bless, happy studying, and happy New Years. :)

No. Suicide is NOT an unforgivable sin. Thats a fallacy spread mostly by the Catholic church and later strict traditional protestantism. The ONLY unforgivable or 'unpardonabl sin is blasphemy.

Your welcome! Some will say it's turning your back on god or becoming an unbeliever (Atheist) but it is really anyone that is not Christian.
Report as
Sorry but no. The ONLY unforgivable sin is blasphemy. All other sins, including turning your back on God, can be forgiven as long as you ask with truth in your heart. If you ask and are truely sorry for turning your back on Him He will forgive you.
Report as
Lol, auxarcs, so what is your definition of blasphemy? or are you saying that murder can be forgiven but oh boy you'd better not say "god damn it" :/

I don't really know.. I'm not that holy, Oh I think I know,um....... All of the human race just being bad then we have a major zombie Apocalypse which we will all die in so I think the ultimate sin is being ungrateful to god :)

There is no one specific thing you can do to be not forgiven for, except never believe in Jesus. If you ask Him sincerely for forgiveness, even with your last breath, He will do it.

The unforgivable sin is blaspheming against the Holy Spirit. In Mark 3: 28, 29 Jesus says, "I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin." There is a debate about what exactly blasphemy of the Holy Spirit means. My pastor says that it's never listening to the Holy Spirit as He directs you to believe in Jesus and accept Him as your Savior.

Life without Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior is the unforgivable sin.

The bible says that speaking against god is unforgivable. That is total nonsense. If that was true then that means that lying, murder, theft, and rape, are all forgivable sins but bad mouthing a supreme being is the most horrendous thing you could do. Really? You think that the most powerful being in the universe gets butt-hurt if you tell it like it is? Did you just teleport in from the 1st century into the 21st century? At least that would make sense.

What I think is to try to walk the walk... if you falter and feel remorse ask for forgiveness from God then forgive yourself and try to walk the walk again. I feel that the unforgiveable sin is the one you dont feel remorseful for or dont ask forgiveness for. Do not think that your soul is damned im sure that God does give an "E" for effort :)

Allah says :

( 53 ) Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."

Quran(39:53)

It is giving satan the credit for what God the Holy Spirit does. If a person believes in satan & gives satan credit for what God really does ... It is blasphemy. Its like loving satan and hateing God. " a house that is divided : cannot stand ".

The only unpardonable sin today is that of continued unbelief. There is no pardon for a person who dies in unbelief. Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). To reject the only means of salvation is to condemn oneself to an eternity in hell because to reject the only pardon is, obviously, unpardonable.

Blasphemy against The Holy Spirit is the unpardonable sin. Namely rejecting Jesus Christ.

Matthew 12:31

The Unpardonable Sin

31 “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men.

Denying the power thereof.

The unpardonable sin is UNBELIEF. God gives us His Word, and He expects us to believe It. Bye! Beth
