good parents...bad child?.. what are your thoughts?...

Report as

contrary to popular opinion, it is NOT always the parents fault if a child turns out badly. there are other influences on a child. various groups, bad friends, lack of peer support, mistreatment by trusted family/friends, harassment at school.

Do not punish them till they have learned the lesson a hard way. I have a cousin whose son was playing too much video games and because she dropped the bomb too much he ended up getting kicked out of military school and getting himself severly injured when he was on his motorcycle.

It is all about the parents. That's why you have to raise your children right when they are young and not try and catch them up in their teens

Could be lits of reasons:
Parents arent as great as they seem outwardly
More influences on kids than just parents
Bad genetic mix.

Sometimes, no matter how hard parents try (sometimes they tried TOO hard) a kids makes choices that lead them down a bad road.

Every one has free will it's a personal choice no reflection on others you can have one really obedient child and one really disobedient child it's the child's choices they make

Um. no. If a parent takes the time and effort needed, they can have an obedient child.

Are you a parent? Or a teenager who has an "I know everything complex"?

Cause I happen to be a parent to a child (boy) that has had behavioral problems his whole life (he's 7) I have sought God's wisdom and guidance in raising him and have prayed for him and over him. God has given me wisdom and has shown me areas that my parenting was either effecting him in a negative way or where it has been ineffective. His behavior has changed drasticly in a positve manner. I have changed my parenting approach drasticly. I repeat: If the parent takes the time to parent the way the child needs, they can have an obedient child. It takes time, energy and effort. But it can and will happen. Most parents don't have the time or resources to deal with a more strong willed kind of child.

I think kids model their parents behavior more than they listen to their instruction. I think that a parent should set the standard and example by how they live their life. "Do as I say and not as I do" is a LOAD............

Parents have something to do with a child being bad but not always. Too many influences and variables from outside the homes.
