After, that is what I do... You know how you get tired after a workout? If you take this after you won't be. If you take it before it is not going to help you, you need to use your own energy during a workout
I would say before. Or maybe even in the middle if your workouts are long. It takes a while for your body to digest the protein you had taken so there your body will become hungry. Take it before because when you start working out and you start resting, your body is already healing itself. Then, your muscles don't have to wait after you work out for your stomach to digest the protein.
i have whey protein the brand is body fortress and on it it says the best is to take it within 20 minutes after exercise.after exercise. it will recharge muscle energy and before it will help decrease fatigue so you can keep training hard so you could take a little bit before and after or just after or just before. I do it afterwards just read everything and see what it encourages you to do. it depends on if it's kreatine or whey.
Carbs before, protein after, definitely. Carbs before to fuel your workout, protein after to repair your muscle tissue. Of course, some people who have a lot of fat to burn will work out on an empty stomach, but some people don't need to burn fat, just build muscle. Take the protein afterward and you won't be as sore and tired, there is no question about this.
Take Rip Fuel before your workout and your day's carbs after the workout. Rip Fuel contains a stimulant that will superpower your workout. You will burn the carbs up after your workout because your body is looking for something to feed it. Protein is something you take during the day for meals, not before the workout.
drop the protein shake and just keep normal protein in your diet. I personally don't believe in all the shakes and pills or whatever else you can digest that's not REAL FOOD. I think you'll have better luck developing natural muscles with natural foods you know? Eat some hard boiled eggs. You think really old body builders had protein shakes?! no. To answer your question I'd say before. Like anything else you take, or I should say anything else your body needs nutritionally, it will be of better use AS you work out and not afterwords when you are relaxing. Most before and some after wouldn't hurt either.
D.O.M.S. - Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness occurs 48-72 hour post workout. When you workout, you are actually creating millions of micro-tares in the muscles resulting in you being sore. Once you have broken the muscles down, you now need to re-build them. The only way for that to happen is with proper protein intake. Therefor, not only is consuming your protein shake within 30 minutes post workout the most beneficial, but making sure that you consume protein with every meal with ensure proper re-building of those muscles.
