Why did God create us? Is it for the same pleasure which one gets from having some pets or say an aquarium?

You're still young, just enjoy the life you have, worship him, and you're all good.

He wanted someone to love Him, and to worship Him. He's worthy to be praised

I think everybody comes to this thought at some point in discovering their faith. Best you can do is explore your thoughts until you've figured it out. Usually takes a little longer than we live to do that.

Hmm. Very good question. Perhaps he created us as an experiment--to see who would have faith, who would figure out how the universe works, etc.

if we were only an experiment, then why would He call us His children and love us so much and send His son down here to die for us?

If you want to run a comparison I would tend to lean more towards a parent wanting children, before I would go with the fish in a tank.

Because God deserves to be loved and worshipped. He does enjoy his creation though.

"And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." Though it do not answer the question completely, it helps. Thanks.

We were created for His pleasure and to have fellowship with Him. And no it's not like a pet or anything like that at all. For He loved us so much even after we rebelled against Him that He was willing to take our place and die for us so that we can be reconciled back to Him. God is Spirit and can not die therefore He sent His Son in which was also Spirit to become flesh to die for our sins so that He could demonstrate His love for us.

I have often considered this question and the only thing I can come up with, is the earth is a playground or school room, for the evolution of the soul of mankind. I believe we are all here, learning to love god, love one another and make things better for each other.

Well, here is the issue when you want to separate god from creation. If we look at god as some guy sitting up there, of course, questions like that become natural.
The thing is, there's no separation between god and creation. God is not up there. It's everywhere. And therefore, creation is just a part if god being godlike. He (I hate it when I refer to god as he) is not sitting there running around doing things.
There's no limit and no shape for god. It does not wake up in the morning and get ready to go to work. An it definitely doesn't get tired to rest on the 7th day.
