Why are employees allowed to smoke in entrances? Causing to have to walk thru smoke in order to enter.

I have found this in 3 different Knoxville,TN locations!

They are supposed to be a minimum of 15' away from the main employee entrance! Even at that distance the second hand smoke still gets to you! I smoked 5 packs of camels a day for 32 years, quit 19 years ago! So I can understand both sides of the argument!

Holy crysler! Did you get up from your slumber to smoke?

Worked 20 hours a day, seven days a week! I had a wife and family to feed. I even smoked in the shower! Had a bean bag ash tray on the shower rail, spare towel to dry my fingers on. Even though I quit years ago, it was too late! Been told by 3 different docs that I have a short time, BUT too bullheaded to lay down and die! Moral: I you smoke please quit now, before it is too late!

In the entrance sounds like in the building. Are you sure they aren't smoking out in front of the entrance?

Because no one said anything yet. if you get a bunch of non smokers and talk to your employer im sure they organize a smoking area that will be safe for everyone

Michael is correct, the squeaky wheel gets the grease! Ahh... That means speak up and let it be heard by the powers that be.The smokers are used to it and can't smell their own breath or their clothes but to non-smokers it smells like a nasty unwashed ash trey from far away.

Some local ordinances restrict smoking nearby all but one (usually the rear) entrance of public buildings.
