Were The Roman's British?

I'm curious, it just seems like every time the Romans are depicted they have a british accent. I don't think that's right.... Or am I wrong?
Just curious!

no ...movies and tv can't do a latin accent,so they chose British,you would think they would have an Italian accent

Naw, it didn't. Look, I'll admitt, I can be slow, but I was just curious. If you read my answer you will see that I didn't think they were british myself. I was having a little discussion with someone and I needed some back up.

Rome was in Italy, last I heard. In English movies (about Rome or anywhere else) they speak English. In American movies (about Rome or anywhere else) they speak American English. In Chinese movies (if they make any about Rome) they will speak Chinese and look very different from Romans.
