My cat has a huge knot on the right side of his face. Any suggestions on what it might be? It just showed up today.

The knot is kind of on his cheek a little bit. He is still eating and drinking, but he looks like he's down.

It could be an abscess. I would take him to the vet ASAP. If it is, you do not want an infection that close to the brain to burst.

The knot on the side of the cat's face could be an infection due to an injury it got while outdoors. It could also be a lump caused by an underlying medical condition. It would be best to take the cat to the vet in order to know for sure.

Our cat doesnt go outside, but he does have a buddy he plays with all the time. I was thinking one possibility could be them rough housing, as usual, and maybe the other cats tooth went to deep when they play bite on each other, or maybe a claw went to deep when they were playing. Just thinking of any possibility. Thank you so much for the help :) Come monday morning, he is definitely going to the vets office!

Also could be a tumor. The vet will know.

might be a benign tumor (non harmful) or an infected blood vessel/ blood clot. if it doesn't go away in a couple weeks, get it checked out as soon as possible
