Ya know.....most mom's I've run across are pretty darn smart. They know what's good and what's not so good. You're mom obviously has a good reason. Go with it.

Obey your mom. If you can show you're mature maybe she'll let you play it sooner.

Start a petition and have all of your friends sign it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with Minecraft. You should be able to play it. :/

What is she worried about? My mom mostly was concerned about security issues. She was worried (and frankly I was too) to download a game from a third-party website, scared that it would give viruses, etc. If you specify what she's worried about I might be able to help.

Oh, I thought she'd be worried about security/addiction. Well, quiet honestly I have played Minecraft and it can easily, and I mean EASILY make an E rating. The world is very blocky and focused more on survival than violence. In some instances, you must kill animals (for food) or monsters (for defense, of course). You only use swords and when hit the enemies bounce back. There is no blood or gore in any actions. When an enemy or animal dies, it simply disappears. Most attacks are comical and fighting is nowhere near realistic. Show her some gameplay. If she wants to hear professional opinions, ESRB rated it E10+, iTunes rated it 4+ (0_0), and even a parenting site recommended it for 8 year olds (this includes the multiplayer with open-text, which is only optional): http://www.commonsensemedia.org/game-reviews/minecraft.

There are even educational advantages listed on the site. Overall I think Minecraft is one of the least violent games I played and requires an open mind and imagination, I would recommend it to anyone of any age.

I'd say you find a way to move on with your life without playing minecraft.

You listen to your mom. I won't even allow game systems or fame in our home.
