How can I stay motivated to lose weight?

I always say I will exercise or go on a diet, but after a couple days, I just forget about it. How can I stay motivated? Thanks! c:

Get rid of your scale! NEVER go by the number, go by how you feel in your clothes and in your body. It's for health, not looks. I was back and forth with eating disorders for years and yes, I'm thin, but it took me forever to learn that being healthy is the most important thing. You are beautiful the way you are and for WHO you are! If you want to be more healthy, go for it! But ALWAYS love yourself and Happy New Year's Eve :)

i was actually going to give an answer, and i still am, but this is a really good idea. i will use it because im WASN'T trying to lose weight, until i found out that i had type 1 diabetes about a week or 2 ago. so now i figured i might as well try to lose a few pounds. diabetes changed my life a lot because i now have to get shots but losing weight would be a GOOD way to change my life. any ways, AMAZING advice!!!!!!!

Keep a chart. Or Exercise Two or three specific days a week. Exercise with a friend or family member who can help motivate you. Use a computer or cell phone to alert you the time you should exercise or start a weekly schedule. It sounds silly but it helps!

Set reasonable goals.
Put a note on the bathroom mirror to remind you to stick to your plan.
The smartphone apps are helpful.
I lost weight on weightwatchers 5 years ago and have kept it off.
The food they sell is garbage, but the program is great.
Do you eat when you are stressed, bored, etc.?
Reduce portion sizes.
Get the support of friends and family (if you can).
Develop new habits.
Good luck--being healthy is worth the effort!!

Actively participate by studying meals recipes and keeping a journal of date started by recording this you are more aware of what you put in your body and have data on what works? most of all be sensible check with your doctor and maybe he or she can suggest a healthy regime(diabetic diet? etc,) Envision what you will look like, the compliments you'll receive and most of all the health benefits. Extreme diets are not healthy and result in yo-yo weight fluctuations. Understand you'll hit plateaus. Its not a task, study, prepare your recipes and welcome the struggle. If you fail don't quit or beat yourself up figure out what you eat and why? Are you hungry? Is it stress and you grab something to pacify yourself? If so? you are an emotional eater have snacks prepared carrot, celery sticks precut and in a sandwich bag ready for snacks((be prepared)) If you starve yourself your body metabolism will slow down and start storing fat. Exercise by taking the stairs or just walk you don't have to run a marathon. Be consistent and persistent, all the while envisioning your body fat melting away.

You have to set some goals for yourself. I used to have the same problem but now I got it all figured out. When you go on a diet you have to learn to say no to all the unhealthy things. You have to eat healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables. If you have a orange and a piece of chocolate you have to grab the orange because its healthier and it gives you more energy. This was really hard for me at first since I love chocolate. Something you can do to help is to, give your self one day a week where you can eat some unhealthy foods. But remember to eat just a little. Also remember yo never starve yourself. That doesnt help you at all. Dont skip breakfast either. That is the most important meal of the day and it gives you a lot of energy, which will help you do exercise. If you are hungry put a note on the refrigerator to remind yourself to eat healthy foods. And last when you get up every morning make a new goal and write it down. This will motivate you to eat healthy and stay active. Sorryif this was long, I hope this helps, good luck :)

do bake goods then walk around and sell them for 20 to 30 bucks and say u made them for a children's charity im 10 and do girl scouts and only weigh 60 pounds

eat like a french. breakfast,lunch, 4:30 snack and them dinner. no snacking and dont eat really fast. your stomach takes 20 minutes to say "hey i'm full" so after eating a serving wait to see if your still hungry.

Never give up. If you wanna lose 20 pounds for example and you can't help yourself and eat a brownie, don't say "well i obviously cant do this" and give up. ;) Keep trying!

There is this diet my Dad tried. He lost 30 pounds in one and a half months. He didn't stop once. I'd say getting rid of the scale, don't check numbers, and actually notice, that if you lose enough, you'll feel better.

It's alright - I'm the same way. Honestly, what drove me is my asshole ex that told me to lose weight, so I'm excited to get sweet results and rub it in his face. But other than that, I look at somthing called thinspo, or thinspiration. Alot of people don't like it because some of it supports not eating at all, but basically it's just pictures of beautiful bods. I aspire to look like them. Also, inspiring music is great! Look forward to your new body, and work hard for it.

A WIC to get healthy food.
A hammer to smash your scale.
A Wii and the fun weight losing game(Lose a pound every 30 mins)
happiness.

Join an expensive gym that makes you pay in advance for a few months. This way you will feel you don't want to waste your money and you will keep going. Also reward yourself at certain points with your favorite food...you know it is not all about diet.

Most of all have fun doing it and find a partner that also wants to do the same thing.

I actually made a spreadsheet of how many ab and arm workouts I do. I put a "goal" line after my "actual done" line. I keep it every day. It works for me and I try hard so I don't feel bad for missing! Don't cheat yourself and think of all the reasons being fit is AWESOME!

what my cousin did to lose weight is having a fit model as ur background picture for your device and every time u look at it u will want to be like the model

Well, in gymnastics I have to do 200 jumping jacks, 40 push-ups, 40 sit-ups, 50 lemon squeezers, and hold the "Superman" for 90 seconds. I believe you should create your own diet and work out routine.

take a before picture.. when you begin to lose weight (through diet and exercise) post them on your fridge (you will be inspired to continue with your quest for weight loss)

I think you must have to make a Daily Routine plan on a Chart paper and after that Pest it on the wall in front of you... Whenever you wake up then your Eyes towards on the chart paper... Best of Luck....

when you half of wat u want to lose do something u like for me shopping
if u want to. loose a whole size buy a size smaller and put it on everytime u wanna quiet i was a small and now im a extra small no im loosing weight for another smaller size

dont set goals to " lose this many pounds"
be creative when u set ur goals, like, find a shirt and a pair of jeans that u like but dont fit then when uve lost some weight, go back to them and see if u fit them, when u do, the u know that uve lost weight.... but of course, dont forget to buy the close

Do not eat food with the family members.who does not need to loose weight.
Don't keep any junk food at home. Have tasty salads available.
Try vegetables, fruits, vitamins and fish only. Chicken and milk has harmones no matter they say harmone free, ccage free, pesticide free etc..
Have a friend at gym who will be waiting for you.
Discuss the goals for the week, talk while being on treadmill. Make it enjoyable.
Wear the same outfit everyday to check the difference you will appreciate the progress.

Eat real food. In a typical supermarket there are many edible food like substances. They are mostly sugar and sugar turns into fat. Eat what our ancestors were eating and that will eliminate about 80 % of what you find at a grocery store. Real food is what your body evolved around.
