Ever heard of putting your best foot forward? Well guys when they first start dating you, try to be everything they think you want to increase their odds of having your favor. Well this can get drawn out and then when they change to be themselves for real, they get let go because the lady wanted what they had in the beginning. Best to be yourself from the start to avoid later frustrations.
Male and female. Let's not discriminate. When you're still discovering yourself, it's sometimes difficult to be confident. The bravado is like a shield. The lack of confidence makes "best foot forward" actually a "false foot forward." That can be embarrassing when the person gets to know you. Others are tricksters, learning how they can use falsehoods and manipulation to navigate the world. Eventually, most grow into themselves. Best to be yourself. If others who are not yet able to do so bother you, step back and let them figure it out.
One thing I learned though. Now this doesn't justify it but actually, many girls, don't really get into u when you're yourself. Their level of expectation is really unbelievably high. (Some girls not all). It's funny. Now again, this doesn't justify it but not all guys are impressively secure with who they are. And many get into making up stories.
