Can someone please explain to me why games like Call of Duty and Halo are fun?

In MY own opinion, games about shooting others aren't really fun. Every time I go to game stores, 60% of the games are about combat and shooting. Why?! (and I am not trying to talk about those games in a bad way)

Because people have fun with them it's obvious so many people play them it's just what games you like if you like fps those are your games I personal like CoD so much more but that's about it if you don't like them that's fine but there fun because you level up and unlock things it gets you pumped up and periods are not needed thank you for your time
