Thats just like saying that a store owner is guilty for putting his merchandise where shoplifters can steal them. It wasn't God's fault!

Shoes and fruit that destroys a "perfect" ignorant world are very different... Diamonds are not easily obtained by robbers...
Report as
God told them what to do and not to do. not his fault they disobeyed, onsing all the facts. if God wanted robots He would've made em. instead He gave us the choice to obey or disobey.

They were like babies... They probably didn't even know that such a thing as a lie existed...

sounds like u just want to argue. God was pretty explicit with his instructions. Disobedience is disobedience.....and really, with all those other trees, what was the point ? just like mankind to rebel against one existing rule....

Uhuh... That's like telling a kid not to play with matches and then leaving them alone... With a pack of matches...

Both of them, technically, if that's how you view it. They were more guilty of not fully trusting in God.

How could she be? She knew nothing, according to the story...and who did...who puts such a temptation right there and then blames an innocent for being tricked?

According to what story, if you say she knew nothing? Temptation? A garden full of trees and only one out of many? Choice - making a decision to do something you were told not to do, or doing something you know is wrong.
Report as
get ur story straight: she knew it was firbidden and she knew why. she chose to disobey anyway....and God expects us to chose Him over all others--so as His Word says, He never give a temptation that He doesn't make a way of escape from. Eve chose not to deliver herself....that's her fault not God's!!!@!

Eve brought sin upon herself and Adam followed her lead. As punishment God increased the pain present during childbirth.

both of them. the serpent tempted Eve, and she went and told Adam to try it, and he sinned as well. if anything, Adam is more guilty. he wasn't purposely tricked by the devil himself. Eve pretty much went up to him and said "Hey honey, try this! it's delicious!"
see my point?

No Eve was deceived Adam was seduced my eve. Why do you think God said your husband will rule over you? And why do you think according to God the husband is the head of the household. The main point is they both were guilty of sin.
Report as
well that's a load of crap. nowhere in the Bible does it say that Adam was seduced by Eve. it only said that she gave some to him, and HE CHOSE to eat it as well.

Better read Genesis 3 your statement is more wrong than mine.
Report as

@devilcupcakes Eve was deceived, and Adam chose to eat, she didn't go looking for him. God told Adam not to eat of that tree and he told Eve. They both equally sinned and according to the scriptures, that was the first sin.

I've read it quite thoroughly. I think you'd better read it over again. I see no seduction going on here.

Here was your statement and I qoute."Adam is more guilty" Sounds to me like your trying to play the blame game. And by the way. Why would anyone who claims Christianity use a name like devilcupcake? Hmm.

It's not the point of who's wrong or right, you both have given your opinion on that the scripture states.
Report as
you missed the first part of that quote - "IF ANYTHING, Adam is more guilty."
and hmm maybe I can choose whatever freakin' name I want? why would anyone who claims Christianity be a bully like JamesKaeberle? Hmm.
Report as
JamesKaeberle
No bully here just stating facts. Sorry you took it that way. You really should quit walking in the flesh and walk according to the Spirit. Times short. Nows the time to get serious about serving God.
Report as
you know, God told them they would die. Eve was deceived, Adam was not. he willingly chose to die with his wife than to live eternally. so who did he put before God? that has always been a sin. furthermore, God has always dealt more kindly with sin that was as eve's; the result of deception, moreso thsn s presumptuous sin like Adam's of knowingly partaking of something contrary to God's command.
Report as
James - leave me alone. you can't judge me and ESPECIALLY tell me what to do. there is not place in Genesis 3 where it says that Eve seduced Adam. Eve was purposely deceived by the devil. that seriously is what it says. you're the one telling me to re read Genesis 3, but really you're the one who should re read it.

@jameskaeberle Really? "You really should quit walking in the flesh and walk according to the Spirit. Times short. Nows the time to get serious about serving God." Your words are a good example why christians get a bad rap. Speaking of scripture, maybe you should consider reading Colossians 3.

Proverbs 6:16-19

16 These six things the Lord hates,
Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
17 A proud look,
A lying tongue,
Hands that shed innocent blood,
18 A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that are swift in running to evil,
19 A false witness who speaks lies,
And one who sows discord among brethren.

The man is the head of the woman:: i've heard he is the real blame.
Report as
JamesKaeberle
If you read the whole chapter it does not pertain to Adam as a sence of being him alone. It's only using Adam as an example of being the First Adam. Jesus was considered as the second Adam. It would've mattered if Adam said no Eve still would've been guilty for her part. The bottom line is this we can play the blame game all day long. Everything went according to God's plan so that He could demonstrte His Love towards us though His Son Jesus Christ.

The man did not become "the head" until after. God did tell Adam not to eat of that tree, and he told Eve.

Thanks everyone.. Many heads are better than one

both definitely guilty. God is a fair and just Judge, and He punished them both. He wouldn't have punished them both had one been innocent.

Strawberry:The reason why it says that Adam was the one who is responsible is because at the time the bible was written women weren't looked at with the same respect.

correct james! Adam is a type and shadow of Jesus--he was also made without a man and woman, and Adam was for awhile sinless. "as by one man sin entered into the world, so by one...."

That does not sounded like she coerced Adam.

The way it was written said, "gave also to her husband with her" - if you start to assume, everything is up in the air. It wasn't written, she ate, found her husband and he ate.

There is no such thing as the original sin. Adam and Eve both ate from the tree and they both ask for forgiveness. That's it! God does not hold me responsible for Adam because Adam didnt ask me permission to eat from the tree nor did Eve asked my wife.

Why do you believe there is no orginial sin? And please explain that you meant after that.
Report as
Because the original sin is made up by Paul. The Quran says ??No person earns any (sin) except against himself (only), and no bearer of burdens shall bear the burden of another?? Quran 6:164

Similarly, the Bible says ?The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.? Deuteronomy 24:16

It doesn't say that God holds us responsible for Adam' or Eve's sin, we are born with a sin nature.

you are right whstisnext. It was not invented by Paul.....just explained by him. but if you want to get real technical; the originsl sin was the rebellion and pride the got the devil kicked out of heaven. lol...how stupid do u have to be to sin before there's even a Satan to tempt you?

Well I wouldn't know fo sure. But in today's court they could considered "insane" (not knowing right from wrong). If they existed they probably didn't know about Satan, lying, evil. They would be too easy to manipulate. I feel more sorry for them then I would angry or dissappinted in them. Imagine living a life of no care or pain then suddenly being kicked out of your heavenly home and have all the pains and truth of the world thrown at you.
