Why does time seem to go by so quickly

it's almost 2013 and I feels like 2012 went by in a blink of an eye.

Usually time feels like it's going slower when you're anticipating something, and feels like it's going faster when you're not, or don't want something to happen.
Take a normal school day for example: You have plans for after school that you've been planning all week, it seems like it takes forever for the school day to end; You have a doctor's appointment after school that you don't want to go to and the day flies by.

See what I mean? It feels like time goes faster when you don't want something to happen or you're not expecting it. It feels like time goes slower when you want something to happen right away.
It's all just perception. Half of the people in the world weren't even expecting 2013 to come because of the whole 12/21/12 thing, and they were hoping that that day wouldn't come, so it felt like it came faster. Now, New Year's is kind of unexpected, like it creeped up on us, because of all the fuss about the "End of the world."

As you get older, you notice time less and less, whereas children feel it dragging by.

The time for us is the same ,when we feel the time is passing by so quickly ,may be you feel the meaning of life,Life is just between the out and breath,so what the meaning of life,it need us to do more things for others ,to help them and care them!it is just my point!

Okay I am silly but to me I have always had that little thought that God speeds time up when he wants to and stuff because it has been going by real quick for me recently. Lol
