What happens if you are so cold you can barely move?

it takes forever type

Report as

If your cold if your dont have a blanket use a towel, or clothes.
Or take a scalding hot bath let the steam fill up the room and then dress in warm clothing and when you cant type you can like get under the blanket or what your using to say warm. If your by a heater warm up your socks put them on and sorda warm your fingers and just make it most suitable .

Get into a warm bath, and as the water cools keep adding more warm water until you're finally warmed up. Then dry and dress as quickly as you can. I did this after a snowmobiling trip gone horribly wrong (40 degrees below zero and our leader gets us lost in the wilds of the UP!) and it helped immensely.

I was honestly so cold, I was praying to die.
Report as
Why would you do that?
Report as
I fell becausr i could feel my legs

Imagine it's 3 a.m., it's 40 degrees below zero, you're lost, there's no one around for 30 miles or more and people are starting to run out of gas so you're riding double and triple just to stay together. Everything burns from the cold, it hurts to breathe, and your bones all feel like they're breaking. I can't imagine being in that situation and NOT wanting to be out of the misery when you can't see any hope. But that was before my MS diagnosis, and my whole outlook on life has changed.

Okay good. You scared me there.

But seriously, no one thought to bring a GPS or at least a compass?
Report as
This was in the days before gps... and our "leader" claimed to know the Maple Block like the back of his hand. That was the last time I EVER trusted someone else to lead.
Report as
Good choice. But still, no compass?
Report as
Nope.
Report as
Well, now you know.
Report as
Sure do. I have a Bushnell Backtracker gps, an electronic compass on my sled, and maps for everywhere I go. If it hadn't been for winter survival training in 7th grade, all 9 of us would have died, I have no doubt whatsoever.
Report as
I wish my school had that.
Report as
The teacher who taught the class died this past winter, and I still think of him often. What he taught me saved us all.
