I'm not against Laptops but I honestly like the software prone you can get on a tablet versus those you can get on a Laptop, plus there are many tablets that are just as powerful and functional as a Laptop. Check out some of the laptop attachments you can get for the iPad or check out the Asus Transformer Infinity.

I have both and plan on using my tablet more once I have an attachable keyboard. I purchased the tablet for ease of mobility. It really depends on what is the purpose, tablet is less bulky, screen can be damaged - mini laptop may have more RAM and quicker response time.
