It would take to long to tell you how I used to handle grief when I was younger. But now I just accept it as a way of life, you have to keep on going.

Are you atheist? 'Cause if you're not, then it helps to think of the fact that he is in heaven with God, watching over you. My Grandmother died 4 years ago, and I still get really sad sometimes, but doing that always helps.

I still feel sad for a while but then I realize it happens to everyone sooner or later and they no longer are feeling the pain they may have felt before death and are now in a happier place (usually). Always stay strong throughout life no matter what happens.

this has happened 2 me. my favorite cousin passed away last august at 19 yrs old. what u can do is write a letter to ur grandpa saying the things u accomplished in life, things u are doing right now, how u doing in school or things you choose to write about. take some flowers or balloons 2 the graveyard and read the letter there. and when u done reading the letter let the balloons go & say u love him and he will never be 4 gotten. and talk 2 people dont just keep ur feelings bundled inside. think about the good memories also.

Whatever you do.. Keep his memory alive! Remember and talk about all the good times you had together and what a good person he was! Just know he is safe in God's arm and you will see him again some day. I will keep you in prayer. :)

Maybe write a one page "in memory" letter that starts "I love you so and you were important and good for me"
then write some lovely memories
tell them how you are crying
tell them you know what they want you to do (live happily for them)
I am"
include a fave pic.
then close with" so I thank you for being part of my life and shaping the person I am"
In the next few weeks you may insert more comments, pages and pics.
Now and then they will come to you in dreams,
perhaps be ready with a special little notebook to write those dreams down when they come along.

That's harsh, man... I don't know if my help will have a good effect, but here goes. Last... I think February (maybe March-ish), my great grandfather died of cancer, that is currently hurting another person in my family and killed my grandmother when I was two years old. Cancer is so sad... >.< Anyway, when he died, I had a really hard time with it. My mom kept telling me that we should visit him often because he was sick, but I thought that I didn't have enough time to see him..... But one morning when I was at school, something happened... The second a student came in to give a note to the teacher, I knew it was for me. I wanted so badly for it to be for someone else, but that was in vain. The teacher sent me to my locker and the office, in which time was a blur... (continued in comments)

One thing I remember about that morning was that as I walked to the car was that the blossoms in the trees surrounding my school flowed like soft, warm snow. It was so beautiful. (Sorry I'm rambling so much! Just lost in the moment) At the hospital we said goodbye to him, and everyone was crying, except me, because I can't cry easily at all. Everyone was sobbing and I wanted them to stop, but I left them alone because they needed to cry. So, past the funeral and all, now I still mourn... I have a terrible habit of repressing feelings, and for months I felt guilty for not spending time with him. I was so sad for those months, but after talking to many people about it, they told me something very important. They told me that I shouldn't feel guilty because he cherished the time with us, and would never want to see anyone in such a depressed state. I feel better now, but at the spot where he once sat at Thanksgiving and Christmas... now sits my cousin named after him. :') He's very honored to be in that spot, and I'm glad...

Master, no one can tell you how to grieve!! We all have our own process. Right now as I type this to you ....tomorrow morning I have to get up and go to the funeral of my 21 yr old nephew!! He passed away the day after Christmas & we are burying him tomorrow :( This is one of the hardest things I've had to do besides when my dad passed away 5 yrs ago, that was more expected because he had cancer...my nephew died unexpectedly! Those 2 deaths I am grieving very differently...you need to do what's best for You!! And not what people want you to do or do what you think they expect you to do!! I will pray for you at this time. I know its not easy! Always follow your gut instinct & your heart & you won't go wrong!!

So sorry Hun , sometimes talking helps. Talk to some of your family and friends ! I still miss my mom and dad and thinking about them helps. Some times I talk to them as if they were here. I know they are with me tho !! Every single day of my life !!
