Is replying Yes, dear a bad thing to a female when being asked a silly question?

That depends on the situation and the lady. I laugh most of the time when someone does that to me, but there are times when it feels like I am being patronized and that ticks me off. If you think she is serious, then a serious answer is the best way to go, even if you think the question is silly.

Being told don't kiss anyone at a NYE party and then the reply is Yes, dear. Is that a bad thing?

It didn't go over well. Hah!

lol then I guess in your case it was a bad thing, you were probably supposed to tell her how you would never even consider it. ;)

I thought that was a given so I found the question silly. I miss spoke! I was being funny I thought. Guess you can use it and some cases never use it. 8)

If the female in question is in a bad mood already, then it probably is a bad idea! Especially if you sounded flippant...but it really depends on the people involved and the situation.

It sounds like you're trying to settle a bet. Lol she was offended and you don't understand why and she said... Ask a girl and she'll understand. So... Here's my perspective. From a females point of view it could sound like you're being sarcastic or just blowing her off. But it's possible that you meant no harm. :-) good luck!
