1.5 TB vs 2 TB?

I got a 1.5 TB external hard drive for Christmas I could trade it in +20-50$ and get a 2 TB hard drive instead. Should I though is the external 500 GB worth it or is that really never going to be used and should I just save my money? I know it depends on what I do, so I mostly multitask listen to music off Spotify play games off downloaded emulators such as GBC, GBA, & N64, Lastly I use Steam and Minecraft. I do spend more money then I should on Steam, but I only have like 15 games atm and I plan to get more since I also got 100$ in Steam cards for Christmas too.

If you have any immediate use for more than 1 TB, then you might very well soon end up with no space in your 1.5 TB.
Still, consider not swapping it for a 2 TB because, usually low quality storage devices will be given during exchange offers, even if the brand might be big.
So, save that money, and use it to buy additional hard disk when you need more space.

I do not have 1TB of storage and my laptop has 750 GB and it only has like 300GB in use so thank you that was in the ball park of what I was wondering.

Since you don't even use your internal storage that much, i'd suggest you to exchange your 1.5 TB to some other peripherals. Because, keeping it not used, might lead to permanently lose its quality.

I'd like to do programming as a hobby and in the last three days I've went from that 300 GB to roughly 670 GB used. I have got over 2000 songs on my computer and prolly 500+ movies on it or getting transfered to it. Also I have 50 GB of that 670 GB on steam mods that I'm working with.

So stick up with what you have right now. That's a good idea :)

I doubt you'll need it, 1.5 terabytes is a LOT.

Just stick to the 1.5TB and use your other money to buy other games or save up for a console you don't have yet.

I figured that much, but I don't really know much about computers. I can play them, but when it comes to memory and such no damn clue.
