If you know you are not hypertensive, then that rapid heart is just a symptom pointing to something more important. You hay have mild hysteria, or breathing problems that will accelerate your heart rate. There are another dozen causes I can think of and they ALL involve having a health professional check you out. I would use Motherwort and Limeflowers to calm your heart action, but you need to talk to a local Herbalist about that. They can check out your actual needs, give you the herbs and tell you how to use them. Have a happy, less stressful New Year....

You could a heart problem, where that does happen. You need to see a doctor, but when it happens you need to sit up straight and take easy breathing tips.

do you drink much coffee, energy drink, cola, or caffiene? tHis could be a contributer. as a rule of thumb, I don't drink anything but water for the last hour or 2 before I go to bed. I'd suggest seeing a dr tho. this could be serious.

You should see a doctor about this, there are number of possible causes, which if left untreated could develop into a serious medical emergency. They should run blood tests and might put you on a 24 hour halter monitor to check for transient dysrhythmias.

Is the meter to your house a smart meter?, if so is it next to your bedroom? It sends off RF 's that 'cause heart issues.
