You will have a nasty contusion that will come out as a giant bruise. Initially calm the whole area with ice to reduce the inflammatory processes. Then smear the affected area with Arnica Cream (as long as the skin is not broken) and that will reduce the pain and swelling, speed up the bruise dispersal and begin the two week process of healing. If you have a Homeopath handy, get some Hypericum/Ruta grav/Arnica drops of tablets and they will REALLY speed up your recovery. Any residual pain after a month suggests you may have chipped your Ischial tuberosties - not usually serious. but it does require professional attention that may include X-rays to confirm the damage. I agree - tell your parents - they do need to know because they have the legal responsibility for your health....

Makes a difference, doesn't it?

Sure it does.......same way it would if you answered someone about construction....not your profession....you might get close but no way you can equal my expertise in answering questions about my profession.

Try sitting on a hot pad. You said you can't walk or lay down right? Well then do that until you get used to the pain. Hope this helps:)

Sorry: heat is not wise in the early stages of this kind of injury. Ice packs of frozen peas or sweetcorn are ideal.

lay on your side or belly. rule of thumb is ice the first 24 he's then heat. back to ice if that's swelling. advil helps more than tylenol for this. c a doctor in a couple days if ur not getting better

Sounds like you bruised your tailbone. I've done that soo many times when I took dance class. It hurts but I think yours is a little worse than mine cuz it hurt when I sat not when I walked. Anyways you just have to deal with it for a while there's not much you can really do other than put a heating pad on it.

YES - there may be damage to the coccyx, especially as the pain is so severe. Heating pad NO - ice packs YES. My notes elsewgere about Arnica etc. are still applicable, except that 'tailbone' injuries needs lots of Hypericum to soothe the pain....

Well I need to talk to my doctor then... She told me to use heat. Except I was too lazy to actually go out and buy one.

If you go to the docter they can give you a pain shot that lasts a while and really works.

Sit on a frozen bag of green peas.......then just TRY to walk and if that doesn't work then I suggest you to massage your butt.

Excellent suggestion re the frozen peas. Massage may help LATER but it would just aggravate the injury just at present - wait a fortnight before attempting something like that. You might dislodge a blood clot....

Well........IM NOT A DOCTER HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW?!?!?!?!?!

Perhaps you ahouldn't be offering advice, then?

You might have broken your tail bone.....it's the very end of your spinal cord.....or it could be several other things but the only way to know for sure is go to the ER and have it checked out.....it if is hurting that bad then tell an your parent(s) or someone and get it seen about now....they can give you something for the pain and find out why it hurts....the longer you wait the more pain you may feel.....sorry, not trying to upset you but just being honest.

Thanks but I don't go home til tommorow night
Report as
Hummmmm....okay then......probably like others suggested....a heat pad or maybe one of the heat creams and a painkiller of some type.....I prefer Ibuprofen but not much else will help......might just be pain cause by swelling and take a few days......but if pain gets real bad or you start to lose feelings in feet or legs then I wouldn't wait til tomorrow.

IF you have cracked your coccyx, you ARE in unbelievable pain and that injury has to be seen by a registered medical doctor at your young age - that is the law....

Yep...what DrB said.

I fell on my butt 3 times within the first 2 months of tae kwon do lessons and it hurted like heck. I know how you feel. You could try doing stuff you like so much that you just forget about the pain. I watch my favorite Disney movies. It helps.
