How should I care for my 1st degree burn?

1.Cool the burn with cold water, 10-15 mins NO ICE. It can cause more damage.
2.Bandage the wound. No fluffy material.
3.Take an over the counter pain reliever (optional)

Cool water.. not ice or cold.. this can cause more damage. Aloe as Rex mentioned is good for burns, keep it clean and covered loosely with a soft bandage (don't put a plastic band-aid on it it needs to "breathe" to heal Don't use butter or ointments as anything greasy, oily or petroleum based can keep it from getting the air it needs and actually hold the heat of your body in against the burn which can make it worse. If it is blistered you can fill a plastic bag with ice and wrap it with a towel then put that on it to ease the pain but don't put ice directly on it.
