How likely is it that Upper Michigan become an independent state?

Looking at the map it just seems logical for Upper Michigan to to separate itself and become independent. As recently as May 2012 there've been intermittent attempts. Okay then, what would YOU name that new state?

Michigan has too many dying broke cities like flint and Detroit to give up any tax income. Other states have tried this too, like Long Island, NY, it always fails.

my theory is that people don't want to have 51 states instead of the now 50, so if for no other reason (it'd mean a new flag!) then Upper Michigan may not secede within your lifetime.

Unless Obummer makes Puerto Rico a state as a way to keep the Progressive Socialists in power.
