I believe sexual preferences are acquired, much the same way as we acquire tastes for food, or music, or art, or anything else. I know we don't make a conscious decision over what we will prefer but I don't believe we're hard-wired for it either. It is something we acquire during our development, though the actual process of that acquisition eludes us. By way of analogy I have a preference for classic rock. I didn't choose that preference but I wasn't born with it easier. Somehow I developed that preference, though I'm not sure myself exactly how. I heard all kinds of music growing up. Why that particular genre resonates with me is a mystery to me. I believe the same is true of sexual preferences. No one chooses to be a pedophile. But I don't believe anyone is fated from birth to become one either.
You know Truth, I've often wondered this very thing myself, and every time I've asked a religious person this, I'm told God has no say so in what happens. It says in the bible, he chose to not interfere, and he gave people free will. So I always come back with, but doesn't God know everything about us? Even before we are born? So if he knew about "bad" people, why does he let them be born? And so far I have yet to hear a decent answer.
I don't get it either and I personally don't think God really has anything to do with it. Either way, it is disgusting and wrong. Preying on children is the worst crime in my eyes and how anyone can look at a child like that is beyond me. I also think saying you are born that way is an excuse.
How do we say "God allows"?? Because something happens? Because lightening doesn't strike a pedophile dead?? We are not privy to how God handles such things or said people. To say He does nothing goes against Him being the Almighty. He's working alright! It's just we don't see it so we don't believe it.
Many Christians believe that gays choose, so I would guess that "pedophile" lies under that same umbrella for them. In my opinion, I guess they could have been born creepy but its probably got something to do with an odd upbringing.
If we intend to believe in God then perhaps the question should not be simply "Why does God make some people attracted to pre-adolescent children" but "Why does he recruit so many of them to his priesthood?"
Really Truth, you seem, to me, by your answers, like you have a fair & straight head on your shoulders. Why in the world would you ask this Q. Even sickos, would say NO to this Q, they certainly would not admit to it. Sorry man, but this sort or $h!t is too much for me. Peace though.
People are free moral agents and they have the freedom of choice, the choices we make are up to us. How ever God gave us a conscience and if we fail to listen to our conscience then we have to suffer the consequences.===========================The Lord gave us mind and conscience; we cannot hide from ourselves. (Proverbs 20:27 GNTD)===========The God of the bible is a righteous just and holy God there's no darkness or sin in him, let us not charge him foolishly by darkening counsel with words without wisdom. =============And this is the message [the message of promise] which we have heard from Him and now are reporting to you: God is Light, and there is no darkness in Him at all [no, not in any way]. (1 John 1:5 AMP)===============But you are pure and cannot stand the sight of evil. Will you wink at their treachery? Should you be silent while the wicked swallow up people more righteous than they? (Habakkuk 1:13 NLT)|============ Now to answer your question. No to ====Pedophilia is a paraphilia that involves an abnormal interest in children. A paraphilia is a disorder.
God did not make them this way. Life is a choice. Evil breeds evil. Maybe looking at photos of the innocent ones brought on evil lust. It is our responsibility to refuse that lust. We are to blame... Not God.
Most pedophiles say they are unaware of making a choice, that they felt a compulsion in the behavior. They knew the risks of the behavior, but could not stop themselves. This is essentially the treatable sickness in pedophilia: the sexually compulsive nature of the behavior. . This is not unlike some other paraphilic disorders, like exhibitionism, frotteurism or BDSM. Each has a compulsive aspect to it that, to the subject, appears as alien to their ego and not of choice. Yet all behavior is chosen, thus the dilemma: what "self" is choosing the self-destructive behavior? Isn't it irrational? No matter what it's called or the exact nature of the behavior, untreated compulsive sexual behavior can damage your self-esteem, relationships, career and other people. But with treatment and self-help, you can manage compulsive sexual behavior and keep your urges in check. Since it can be managed, it is by definition chosen behavior.
God doesnt. Satan and evil inherent in the world does that. Inherent evil either causes incorrect growth of a brain or genes, or causes a child to be raised in a situation that makes them open to satans evil (being abused themselves) Then they are fed further temptations an opportunity feed their twisted desires - by satan or agents thereof. It grieves God but all humans are given free choice and God rarely interferes because free choice is for all or no one. It was given to all humans. If He takes it from a few He would to take it from all. Satan twists free will to dark and evil things. A human who abuses makes a clear and free choice to do so and they are free to choose NOT to do so. They arent forced to hurt kids. They do it because they get sexual pleasure from it, or because it makes them feel powerful. In some instances its because its all they know because its how they were treated and in a few cases its because they are convinced the child loves them in a sexual way. There is all sorts of evil in the world, all caused by satan, its minions, or humans in its power.

Happy New Year Truthisobvious ! I believe that wicked and vile thoughts run thru the minds of every human who ever existed. But some choose to entertain them to the point that they go and act on them. They said "yes", while most others said "no". Thanks for asking! Beth
Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God," for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. James 1:13-15
There's evil in every society. The Buddhist, the Muslim, the athiests, the thing is that you can't just say that it's Christian's. yes they're are evil Christians but there are also evil people in the non-religious.
perverseness is anything against the original design/natural purpose of things...a pedophile has been abused as a child theirself, has a need to dominate a weaker vessel, or is one who has allowed themself to lust/ or be entertained by perverse, evil thought to the point the God given conscience is seared and the action is allowed unto selfishness
