Do you men sometimes feel cheated by society that you are not supposed to talk about your feelings?

I believe that men and women in general have the same sorts of thoughts, but it is socially EXPECTED that we talk about our feelings rather than proactively solving the problem.

I know that sometimes it can just be nice to tell someone how you feel just for the sake of it, but I wonder if you men wish you were allowed to talk more about anything you wanted?

I feel lucky as a girl, that I am not expected to suppress anything.

Men, I would appreciate your input.
Ladies, if you have a man who tells you everything, I would also appreciate knowing.

You aren't forced to not talk about your feelings. My boyfriend is a little shy but he tells me how he feels all the time.

That is fantastic. My best boyfriend I ever had just absolutley would NOT discuss them, no matter how hard I pushed and prodded. I JUST WANTED TO KNOW WHERE HE WAS AT! To see if I could make him any happier. Waste of time though, and I suppose it was uneccesary anyways. The only thing he used to say was, "I'm fine, always" (usually with a red face). It drove me up the wall inside.

I can say my feelings out loud. But only in Spanish,and only to my girlfriend. I don't purposely broadcast my feelings to anybody though.

Well I just think girls and boys are the same in their head. But we are allowed to be all emotional and irrational, but men are just viewed as pussies if they do.

it isnt that i'm not allowed to talk about my feelings, and it is actually more expected now that guys "get in touch with their feminine side" and talk about their feelings, than you would think, but i dont display my emotions to someone unless i trust them, i have trust issues, so i maintain a wall in public, and then show my emotions to the people i care about, i have learned that there is a time to be tough, and just suck it up and be part of a solution, and that there is another time, where you can just break down over it and let it all out to someone, the trick is to know when that time is.

Thank you, this is the best answer I have yet. I do the same in my life, but it's good to know that not all of you are closed off to the idea all the time. And yes, I suppose some do do it more than I would think.
