Why chromium is used for electroplating?why the objects which have chromium plating are not made of chromium itself?
Chromium is used for electroplating because it as a high melting point. Chromium is also odorless, tasteless and malleable. Another quality that makes it suitable for electroplating is because of its high rust resistance and hardness.
Chromium is also expensive enough so as to make it more economically feasible to electroplated a cheaper metal.
