I use only use steel cut oatmeal which is much better than the rolled oats. I like sugar and butter. Maple syrup and butter is good too. Some bananas go well to with the butter and sugar. I know it sounds wierd, but I sometimes make oatmeal with soy sauce. It's good!
I like to drain it (like spaghetti) and run water through it to get the starch off it, then reheat it (if needed) then put a dab of butter with maple syrup (I have a year round supply of this product and rarely use sugar) then half and half. It is the only way I will eat this stuff. It has to be "old fashion oats" not the quick cooking.
