Why would a girl have a fake period without taking contraceptives?

My fiancee is not on the pill but still has short one day periods without much bleeding at all. Could this just be cervical mucus or what is it?

Sometimes a woman can get a period but its called spotting, still blood like a normal one but its just nothing major or painful like a proper one, some females get them and others don't.
Your fianc? should know what everything is with reading / being taught from her mother, check website for more information

She is trying to get pregnant so im wondering if this could be part of the problem.
