its human nature for example your a european explorer and find a bunch of dark skinned people with different face structures etc you might think of that as a disease or a punishment from god or something and they just want to be cautious and it probably just built up from that
most of the time it is how they were raised. but sometimes, ppl are just douchebags on their own. i dont like racist ppl at all though. one thing is i have black friends and foreign friends. and even more importantly, i have black family. and my cousin is mixed. and we're really close. but it sucks that there are racist ppl. i can't stand them. it's super messed up.
Because they have different beliefs than you do. I'll give you some rules of thumb to handle people like that. Rule 1: Don't start arguing with them about it if they are someone you don't know, or if they are someone you have to be with a lot.(co-workers, family, your insurance guy, exct.)Just calmly say that you don't agree with them, and that the people they don't appreciate do in fact have feelings too. Rule 2: Try to drop the subject. If they are someone that keeps trying to talk about it, keep trying to talk about something else. But don't change what you are trying to talk about, if they keep trying to talk racist, keep trying to talk about the food channel(as an example), they will see how annoying it is, and they will stop trying to talk racist.
I don't have any more rules for you, but remember that as long as you're accepting and kind, you are a good person. There is no answer that we can all agree on why people are, just don't be one of those people. Racism in our society will always exist, just remember to not be one of those who are adding to it
Because they are ignorant and literally don't know better than that!!! People who are educated and have traveled and experienced different cultures are usually open minded and tend not to be racist. Racist people were just brought up that way by their parents as well. Sad but true!!!
People of scared of things they dont understand. Lets face it, the majority of people connect more with people their own race. Therefore, they understand them better. Many are unopen to people who are different. Im so sorry
