Supposing there is a GOD, why doesn't he make people's lives better on earth?

Report as

Life is flawed because we are flawed. Which is good! Because if we were perfect, we'd be more or less robots. Which isn't what God wanted. He wanted us to be individuals, and thus he made us in His image.

He means, why would't he at least end world hunger, for example
Report as
Thats a human problem created by human evil. To fix, well any of those type of things really, God would have to make us all perfect, thus taking away our free will.
Report as
Actually the first human pair endowed with free will were made perfect according to the standards of the one who created them. It was his desire that they listened to him out of their own free will because they loved him. Which could have been possible had they chosen to reflect and think about what their creator had already provided them. Their Heavenly Father placed them in a beautiful garden with more than enough to eat with interesting and challenging work of expanding the boundaries of that garden globally, having in subjection his animal life creation, using their intelligence to build and expand their family, and with a perfect mind and body with perfect health the possibilities are unimaginable but they first needed to prove their loyalty and integrity first to their creator to be entrusted with eternal life but not reflecting on what he had done for them already and on the promising prospects ahead but Adam failed to meditate on the consequences of his actions and therefore failed a test he could have passed if he wanted. The choice was theirs and God allowed them that freedom. True glory and honor is true when given voluntarily. God wants worship out of love not forced so he has allowed humans to try every form of rule on their own without him globally but he does have nations of people who do worship him out of love because he has opened his word to them allowing them to see who he really is in spite of all the lies that abound. He has a people proclaiming his truth and purposes to those who want to do things his way. Those who are humble of heart, honest at heart, and hungry for truth.

These are the ones who finding God.

This world and its situation is the result of the first human pair rejecting his counsel.

Yes, but if we hadn't had the opportunity to take the fruit of knowledge, we wouldnt have had free will at all. And I think God knew that we would, seeing as we are His creation. Thus, He chose for us to have free will, and suffer for it, rather than be automatons in a perfect world.

And... wait, was that a Jehovah's witness website?
Report as
But his word also states that soon his kingdom will undo all the harm the first human pair and his adversary have unleashed into this world from the beginning of creation.

"LET us make man in our image, according to our likeness." That divine statement is recorded in the first chapter of the Bible. Accordingly, "God proceeded to create the man in his image, in God's image he created him," reports Genesis 1:26, 27. Thus the first human differed from all other creations on earth. He resembled his Creator, able to reflect a godlike attitude in reasoning, in demonstrating love, justice, wisdom, and power. He had the faculty of conscience to help him reach decisions that would benefit himself and please his heavenly Parent. (Romans 2:15) In short, Adam had free will. Observing the makeup of his earthly son, Jehovah made this assessment of his handiwork: "Look! it [is] very good."?Genesis 1:31; Psalm 95:6.
2 As Adam's descendants, we too are in God's image and likeness. However, do we really have a choice in what we do? Although Jehovah has the ability to know in advance what will happen, he does not predetermine our does not predetermine our individual actions and destiny. He never allows his earthly children to be ruled by predestination. To help us grasp the importance of exercising our free will to make right choices, let us first of all learn a lesson from the nation of Israel.?Romans 15:4.

I'm not religious myself, but my religious friends say that it's motivation to help others. If everything is just given to us we don't appreciate it as much.

Think of this world as your SAT exam if you pass you go on to heaven but if you fail you'll be on a very "hot seat" :)

God has a plan for each and every one of us, if something is going wrong, god might not answer it right away. It takes time and once he helps you through things life will be so much easier once you actually find out, how much you love and have faith for god. With god all things are possible.

I recommend reading Romans. I know Paul mentions am answer there, though you may not like it. Besides, I believe it is often us doing our own will, which then leads us to our turmoil. A person who develop lung cancer, but has smoked for 30 years, are they really to blame God. Humanity destroying the earth has led to the discovery new deceases. Us wanting to claim ownership, expand, and spread certain concepts, such as democracy, has led to wars. Our greed has led to famine. Our gluttony to health problems. Our self gratification to the spreading of STD's, and kids raising kids (or grand patents raising kids). We put these chemicals in the air, yet wonder why we get cancer. We know the how to prevent much suffering, yet we give in to our own desired. We don't give to the needed, rather we try to obtain more, we are not mature enough to look beyond the 15, 20, 40, 60 minutes of instant gratification to see the responsibilities that may come from it. We continue to expand. We continue to promote capitalism, democracy, and patriotism. We continue to take the easy way. We must acknowledge our ownership in suffering. It would be like me cutting my hand on a piece of glass trying to break into your house, even with no malice intent, then I blame you for me doing so. It was not your will for me to break into your house. But, if you were come to your door, at the right hour, then I would have never suffered, yet still accomplished what I wanted (again no malice intent). Hope this helps. God bless.

Ya know I just wanted to say that I love how you always put God bless at the end of every comment and every question. It really helps me to remember to stay positive and only say positive things even if I don't agree with them and to remember why I defend my religion and my God.

Boogley, thank you for acknowledging my efforts, as i do try to stay positive and respectful. I am grateful our God has allows me to be able to do so. The thing is, the last one is just as sincere as the first. I find great kindness in your words, and I can not express what they mean to me. Again thank you and... ...God bless. :)

God has given people freedom of choice. He has also given them guidance in his word the Bible. There are many people whose lives have been made better by choosing to apply his word in their lives.

Three options:
1- God can't.
2- God won't.
3- God isn't.
Pick one.

Because God isnt a magical genie here to grant our wishes. God gives us choices including an ultimate choice - Him or Not Him. Satan does exist and it is evil. Sadly many people choose it and its ways over God and the natural consequences for choosing satan and its ways are almost always ultimately bad. Bad things happen because we humans make bad choices. God does not intervene because that would require interferance with and/or removal of free will and free choice.
Gods goal isnt for us to all be rich and live cushy lives. He has been pretty clear that our earthly desires mean very little. His focus is getting people to heaven, not giving them everything they want on earth. But people have to actively CHOOSE Him.

If we admit that a god has controlled the destinies of mankind, history becomes a most cruel & bloody farce. Age after age, the strong trampled upon the weak; the crafty ensnared the simple. No prayer has shielded the innocent, rescued the good from the scaffold, or extinguished the fagot's flame and nowhere, in all the annals of mankind, has any god extended any help. If abuses are destroyed, if slaves are freed, if the naked are clothed; if the hungry are fed; if justice is done; if the weak are protected, man must do them. The grand victories of mankind have been won by man, & by man alone.

There is no recorded instance where the uplifted hand of murderer has been paralyzed – no truthful account of the innocent being shielded by god. Men are waiting for their human prey – wives are whipped – little children begging for mercy – sweet girls are deceived & outraged, countless millions have been stolen from their homes & used as beasts of burden, but god’s no time to defend the good & to protect the pure. Too many have fallen dead for taking god’s name in vain, but not one engaged in such infamy has ever been touched by the wrathful hand of god. He’s too busy looking for blasphemy.

In the Words of King Solomon,

"God made all things good, but man has sought out many inventions"(Ecclesiastes)

God makes it rain on the just and the unjust alike. He takes care of those who let Him.

however welive in a world where most embrace sin and excuse it, and the wages of sin is death.

Isaiah 55:8-13
"This plan of mine is not what you would work out, neither are my thoughts the same as yours!
For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than yours, and my thoughts than yours. As the rain and snow come down from heaven and stay upon the ground to water the earth, and cause the grain to grow and to produce seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry, so also is my Word. I send it out and it always produces fruit. It shall accomplish all I want it to, and prosper everywhere I send it. You will live in joy and peace. The mountains and hills, the trees of the field---all the world around you--- will rejoice. Where once were thorns, for trees will grow;
where briars grew, the myrtle trees will sprout up. This miracle will make the
Lord's name very great and be an everlasting sign [of God's power and love]. (Living bible)
