God is the perfect, all knowing, all powerful being that created and rules our existence. How do I know that? We're here, and I and every other human being feels His presence, and most worship Him in some form or another.
I'm a Christian, so I believe that Jesus was sent by God to save us. How do I know that? I take Jesus' word for it. The way I see it, Jesus was the greatest philosopher of all time, and I know that, in all His wisdom, He would have no reason or desire to lie about that. I also think that Jesus' philosophy is exactly what our perfect God would want us to follow.
There is no god in my opinion. When you look at how people act with the idea of god, you realize it's because of security, hope, or unanswered questions. Some believers think: "I don't understand why or how, therefore god." Bad logic resides in this argument.
I believe God exists to an extent, but he doesn't control what we do or what we say. Also I think that religions are just tearing people apart, while, I believe that God wants us to be united, and the religions are preventing that.
To me the definition of god is energy + information= pure thought. I think energy and information is all that's required to create a universe. i don't follow any religion, no one could know gods agenda,I don't believe in the heaven and hell that religion teaches, the bible was written by mortal beings.whats in store for us is unknown.
God is mystery. God is “the wholly Other”, invisible, inconceivable, radically transcendent, beyond all words, beyond all understanding and at the same time uniquely close to us, filling all things, present everywhere around us and within us and he is present, not merely as an atmosphere or nameless force, but in a personal way.
God is only One, He is self-subsisting without need, has self-sufficient, Master whom all creatures need, He neither eats nor drinks, He was never born and never had any son, and there is no one that could complete with Him or comparable unto Him.... He is the God.
I don't know? An obsessively high number of Christians think he's some hateful being. That wants to kick people while they're down. And hates gays? But, I think that. Who ever or what ever God is, he loves us all the same? There's this one verse in the bible. That is coming from Jesus. It was something to the effect of, Jesus am I going to hell for all the sins I have committed? Then he tells him what he's done. Then Jesus he just says to the man. My father has many rooms for many people in his house. Or something like that. If somebody could quote it in the comments section that would be mighty helpful. But, I interpreted that, as he doesn't care who you are. Or what you have done, as long as you know what you've done is wrong. Then, you will find inner peace in life? Along with death. I don't care what religion you are. What your sexuality is. Or the content of your skin. God loves all the children of the world. That's why I can't go to church. I always feel as though I'm getting a lecher that no matter what I do? I'm going to hell. But, I hope that where eve you go, you are happy? Because that's all that matters in life.

God is the most powerful and caring being. If you don't believe in Him and you believe the science theory that BOOM! the world was created, you're wrong. It amazes me at how many people there are on Ask that don’t believe in Him. Just remember, God considers EVERYTHING you do in eternal life.
To most god has the answers for the ignorant, hope for the fearful, and the wrath for the self-righteous. To me, if a god does exist, it's a verb, a non-sentient force that doesn't speak to use and doesn't watch over us in order to judge our every thought and deed. It's like a radio station that won't quite tune in, but if you live in harmony with the world around you it becomes as clear as a bell. I guess the closest example would be Buddhism without all the mumbo jumbo rituals. (sorry Buddhists)
God is nothing more then the way ancient peoples explained the unknown, and later used it to control the masses. It is quite simple to ask Who created the earth?....... God did. Who made humans?....... God did. See how simple that is?
G-d is feelings. Strong feelings like joy, hope, courage, disappointment, sadness, etc. G-d is not man nor air, but a being that takes form all around us and plans out the blueprint of the universe. G-d loves. G-d gives. G-d takes. G-d plans. G-d teaches. G-d is all. All is G-d. Everything happens for a reason.
I think of God as an idea, an abstract concept. And I do not think of that as a down-grade. Ideas are of a different order of reality, not a lesser one. Ultimately our Ideas are the most important things we have. Ask Plato xD. Ideas evolve over time, like everything else - and I see evidence of that happening in some of the comments submitted here. It's encouraging. Thanks for that.
Revelation 1 5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, 6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. 7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. 8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
I believe God is an energy, comprised of the entirety of the souls of all living things, and the way god influences your life depends upon how you interact with other living things...If you are mean and spiteful your energy will effect the energy of others, and start a chain reaction that will eventually cycle its way back around to you. If you are compassionate and empathic, the same will also cycle back to you.
