Talk to God. I have official prayers I say. I read the Bible. But when I talk to Him and then listen is when I feel closest to Him. Sometimes I just converse with Him, in my head or out loud, like I'm talking to Him on the phone. Other times I talk to Him while going about my daily routine. And I listen. Just listen. Even if you hear nothing, listen. Give God time to say something. He will appreciate that. One way He will talk to you is by bringing you closer to Him. Remember, talk to Him. Then listen.
Through confession, Bible study, prayer, regular church attendance, and obedience, we can develop a closer relationship with God. When you come right down to it, it seems rather simple, if not simplistic. But how do we develop a closer relationship with other human beings? We spend time with them in conversation, opening our hearts to them and listening to them at the same time. We acknowledge when we've done wrong and seek forgiveness. We seek to do right by them and sacrifice our own needs to fulfill theirs. It's not really all that different with our Heavenly Father.
Want it more then anything. King David said. Ps. 42:1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. 2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? 3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God? 4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.
Hi GF Follow Joshua 1:8 "this book of the law should not depart from your mouth,+ and you must in an undertone read in it day and night, in order that you may take care to do according to all that is written in it;+ for then you will make your way successful and then you will act wisely. Now read John 4:8. Also, read the below article and it will give you even more information. Please contact me directly if you have questions.
You,re as close as your priest, or rabbi, or any other religious leader, including the pope, god has no favorites,we are all equal . isn't it strange how every one refers to god as him, what do you expect, from a bible written by men.
Seek God.. Luke 12:29-32 29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. 30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. 31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. 32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Gesner, I would suggest that you find a believing friend who is mature in their walk with God. This type of mentor has heard it all, and has learned how to properly divide it all out. That way, you can come to them with your questions and concerns, and they can talk you thru the things that come up during your days, in a non-judgmental way that perhaps your pastor and family cannot. You have come to the right place to find such friendship, probably everyone of us who answered your question would probably be willing to start such a relationship in the comments here, including me! So, search your heart and reach out to someone who knows at least a little more than you do :). Best wishes to you, and I hope to be seeing you around here! Bye!
