How do you deal with finding out that you have type 1 diabetes?

Report as

With an chronic disease it is hard to accept that it is happening to you. It's life changing and supposed to happen to other people. It's even harder if you are young. Remember, it's not WHO you are. It's a condition that you have. Don't be freaked out. Just find out everything you can and take it seriously. You can still have a full and healthy life. You just have some limitations. It's all about your attitude and how well you take care of yourself. Try not to live in denial or fear. Be determined that you will still live the best possible life for you.

Thank you. Right now they are making amazing strides in understanding this disease. It is entirely possible that in the next 10 to 20 years that they might be able to figure out how to reverse it!

You set up a meeting with a nutritionist she'll help you by choosing the foods and everything . I know it's hard but that's your life now and you gotta take care of it.
