If a guy calls you sweetheart, honey, baby ect, does that mean he has feelings for you or can that be misinterperated?

Report as

Well, there are some fellows who use those terms freely and loosely, and who mean nothing by them. Others use them as terms of real affection. There's no way for us to tell which sort this young man is. I suggest that, the next time this gentleman addresses you that way, you ask him, "what are you trying to say when you call me 'honey' (or whichever one he does say)"? Either he will scramble for something else to call you, or it will give him an opening to come clean about how he really does feel.

Depends on situation. He might say that to get your attention. Example you might call a waitress hon

Not a waitress or anything like it.

He never said you were a waitress, he gave an example to prove his point.

Well alot of guys use the term "baby, honey, babe" without even thinking about it. It's pretty much a natural thing to them.

lol i like that and im a guy yeah we throw it out there most of the time without thinking about it. other times we really olike a person so we use the terms to see how you react to them and from that we can usually tell if one is up for a frienship maybe more or doesnt want anything to do with you

I've been called hon and sweetheart by men I have never met before; I think for some men it's alternative to calling you miss or ma'am, lol

Ok if you do not want to confront him and ask him then here's you a good solution. Listen to what he calls other women/girls. If he calls them the same thing then it's just a habit. If he refers to them by name or differently then you have a good indicator that you're special to him. Keep in mind. The other girls/women he addresses need to be in the same age frame and social status as you. Example is that of course he is not going to call the librarian baby and hun.

Depends on the guy. That could be the way he talks or it could be expressing hue he feels about you.

It could just mean that he doesn't remember your name.

Lots of guys use all those names routinely. In my experience the guys who call u baby are creeps. Now it's different if ur in a relationship w someone and that term is used affectionately. ;)

Depends on the situation I have been called babe by a guy at my school and he just called me that out of habit but I kept my eyes peeled and he called the girl he liked sweetheart instead of babe like every other girl he talked to. I know it is totally different.
