Don't know what to do

I want to quit basketball, because I don't enjoy it, I have no friends on the team, I'm taking playing time away from people who actually want to be there ect. I haven't showed up for practice or games for over a week and my parents were fine with it. but now there forcing me to play because I have a responsibility to finish the season. so now I have to go to practice and make up some excuse for why I haven't been there. what should I do? would you make your kid finish a sport even though he dreads going everyday?

Of course i wouldnt! You need to tell them you want to quit because u dont enjoy it much. It doesnt matter if they get mad at you. They cant force you to do something u dont want to do!

I want to do that more then you can know, but my parents wouldn't forgive me very easily if I did that

It would be best to grin and bare it! Do your best. Finish the season.

You should tell them you just don't like it. They shouldn't force you to play a sport you don't like. The coach may have already took you off the roster because you were a no show.

I agree. U should if at all finish the season. U signed up and made the team? Right? Your parents r trying to teach u something. It's almost over and I'd b completely honest with the coach bout how u feel and what your doin:) good luck:)

I've been in this position before. If you don't finish the season then your team will be a player short, which would be very problematic. I agree with finishing the season, but don't sign up next season.

I would. I would tell them 'At least finish the season. After that do whatever you want.'
But if they speak reasonably to me, and tell me all the reasons they don't want to play anymore, then I'd let them decide. But I'd tell them to think about it first. Which it seems you already have. :)
Just tell the coach the truth and maybe y'all will be able to work something out between you, the coach, your parents, and the team.
Hope this helps. :) Good luck.
Oh. And if you do quit, don't stop supporting your team. :)
