How do I tell my mom I got my period? HELP

Report as

Walk up to her and tell her "Mom, I think I got my period". She'll understand, don't be scared. Good luck!

Direct and to the point, it's always the easiest way.

I don't get it...it seems like they think they will get in trouble.

Yeah, I know. It's just a natural part of growing up.

Think back to when you first got it. Tell me you weren't self conscious, and nervous.

Oh, no doubt I was self conscious and nervous. But I wasn't scared to tell my mom, I knew she wouldn't judge me for something so natural that I had no control over. The scary part was I had to leave for camp the next morning. First time away from home for a week AND I had my period.

Hi, sweetheart. Your mom will totally understand and when she finds out you're scared, she will be there for you. She can help you and answer any questions that you might have Just tell her outright and everything will be just fine. 8-)

It isn't as hard as you think, she has one too so she will be supportive. I was scared to tell my mom too but after I did, I was like 'why was I so scared to tell her?' lol

Yes tell her. It will be fine :-) heck my daughters even told me. That was way more info then I ever wanted to have though. It's a normal thing you're going through. Let your mom help and answer all of your questions.

That was the scariest day of my life when my daughter said to me, "dad, I think I just got my period". I just went duh, duh, duh and then called my sister.

I'm also new to this, luckily I got mine at summer camp, so I only had to tell my mom afterwards. Just go and tell her. Your mom had to go through this, and her mom, and so on until the beginning of time. You have to tell her. I understand the nervousness, but if you don't tell her then, you won't be able to get pads you like, unless you buy them yourself, and your mother will be upset you never trusted her.
