Yes. Of course. Having social anxiety doesnt mean that you have to have it forever. You can work through it.....Esp if a paycheck is involved. Being a lawyer doesnt necessarily mean you have to be a trial lawyer either. You can specialize in whatever type of law you want....even those kinds that dont require you to be very social.
Sure it all depends on how bad you or the person with social anxiety wants to become a lawyer. In all cases social anxiety is treatable but keep in mind it will never go away, you will simply have a better way of coping with it. I also have social anxiety.
can be anything they want to be? with ambitions and goals like that anything will be possible. a lawyer has to know the law , state a case, stand up for a client. not make a courtroom fun or b the life of a party.
I have social anxiety disorder and I work in the arts. I had to work hard to find ways to deal with groups of more than 4-5 people, but I manage. I think you can be a lawyer if you want. But you might need to find ways to handle and control your anxiety if you want to be a trial lawyer. Just remember that all lawyers do not need to go to courts and be around crowds. If you do contract law you would seldom go in a court and mostly meet clients in your office. Entertainment lawyers seldom go to court and even divorce lawyers don't always have to go to trial. I figured out how to tell when my anxiety was going to hit before it took control and found solutions to calm myself back down. You could work on looking for the clues to your attacks before they happen and then look for ways to avoid them!
