All the explosions and activity on the sun. Is there any noise? Any sound?

Yes, tremendous noise. It is not a vacuum

I wasn't getting any difinitive answers so I resorted to the good ol' Internet. Here's the answer:

"However, this doesn't mean that there is some sound coming from the Sun! Unlike light waves, sound waves cannot travel in vacuum: they need a medium in which they can travel. So since space is very close to empty, sound waves cannot propagate."

So....no noise.

There ARE sound waves generated, but there is no NOISE. That is because no-one is there to hear what is going on - well, not for long, anyway.

Right the sound cannot travel through space. There still is noise but the sound waves cannot travel. The sound is isolated to within the sun inself. My understanding by that is that there still is tremendous explosive noise on the surface. Don't you agree?

From what I read is the atmospheric pressure needs to be that od the earth and you won't find that on the surface od the sun.

Most likely. But we can't get close enough to hear it.

Space is a vacuum so there is no noise. If you could stand on the sun, you'd hear noise.

True to an extent, but sound waves ARE generated in the turmoil - it is just that no-one can get close enough to hear anything. You don't need air to carry sound waves - the molten material of the Sun would carry sound waves very well. Just as the liquid in our seas carries sound better than air does. But YES - the vacuum of space would make eaves-dropping on the Sun difficult to do....

There is no "noise" unless there is some creature there that perceives energy waves as sound. Just like the tree that falls in the woods with no one there to hear it - no listener, no noise.
