Please Help!!!!! she is scared to go again what should my sister do?

My niece has braces and one of the wires popped out and bracket fell off when see was sitting and watching tv. She went it to get it fixed and she told the nurse assistant lady that put them on and told her what happened then the assistant got attitude and was mean to her and when see left said you need to think about what you ate ( to make then fall off) before you come in next. When my sis and niece got to the car my niece told her mom and she got pissed and called the ortho. And said she needs to come back when she goes in for tightening and what not and said other things. Now my niece is scared to go back!! What should we do and what do you think of the situation?

I think that when she goes back in for her appointment her mom should stay with her so she knows what the nurse is saying. She won't be mean if her mom is in the room too and your niece will feel a lot more protected.

Go see a different dentist. As a kid I was always afraid of the dentist because I had some awful experiences but when I started going to one I liked it changed the whole experience for me. You could call around to neighbors to see what dentist they use for their kids and if they like them. Also you could take your sister out for a treat after if she was good at the dentist.

Tell her to try and figure out how it happened so when she goes back she can tell this lady.
If she still has attitude tell the Ortho.
No excuse, but she might have had a busy stressful day with little time and she was letting her know it.
Tell her not to worry, tell the Ortho if she remains rude.

I completely agree with one of the previous answers. As it is not easy to change Drs,, especially if things like braces have already been paid for. Have her bring her Mother in the room when she goes in. Tell her not to be afraid of her, her behavior was unacceptable,. Hopefully the dentist has spoken to her.
