Does the bible statement "fear God" mean to be frightened of God ?

Meaning to have absolute respect and unconditional love for Him.

Yes. He's wiped out entire countries for upsetting him!! I'm totally scared to death! He could strike me dead at any moment:(

You know...There will be some people who would prefer you to fear God, to be such a good Christian, to never do anything wrong so that He will never punish you... But I prefer to love him, and know he is a forgiving God who loves me no matter what I do. The only person who can tell you how you should be with your religion is you. You have to find out what works for you and what makes you feel better in your spirituality.

When the bible talks about the fear of God, it means "to stay away from evil deeds, stop doing evil, living right according to the word of God". That is precisely what it means.

Fear God means "you should not do any thing which is forbidden and you are asked not to do that, on the other hand you are asked to do some things which you must do" Go through the holy books they just guide you how to lead your life to achieve the goal hereafter.
